Mamas in Bikini’s

Posted by Gina C. on September 9th, 2009

What do you think about pregnant women in bikini’s?

I am pretty anti-bikini as I’ve discussed before, but taking that hat off, I feel like it’s ok…for some.

If you could wear one before you were pregnant then okay. But if you’ve never looked good in a bikini I don’t know why you’d decide to put one one when you are pregnant. Yes, you have a baby bump but chances are there are other bumps and it’s just not a good look.

Curvy women can look super in bathing suits just make sure its appropriate for your body- pregnant or not.

Sherri Shepherd’s Bathing Suit Body

Posted by Gina C. on August 6th, 2009

Today was the much talked about day on The View.

Sherri Shepherd walked out in a bathing suit.

Let me just say that I don’t really get. While it may be good for ratings and entertainment, it just seems really degrading. Do we have male anchors on the Today Show prancing around in their skivvies? Does anyone want to ask Al Roker to a bathing suit body challenge?

I understand if people want to eat healthy, exercise, and tone up but using this venue to prance around in a bathing suit  just seems silly.

I was especially turned off when last week she got a Brazilian wax while being filmed. I just found it to be tasteless, especially for a woman who claims to have certain values.

As for the bathing suit, it wasn’t that flattering. It could have been worse, but it definitely could have been better. But congratulations on losing those inches Sherri girl. Keep up the good work!

Degrading Big People- One Reality Show at a Time

Posted by Gina C. on July 15th, 2009

I’ve been trying to keep my comments to myself but I really don’t like the Oxygen tv show DYAO or Dance Your @$$ Off. First I have a problem with an obscenity in the title. I’d hate it if my child was like “mommy, can I watch dance your @$$ off today?”

Secondly, I think the way the show is done is degrading. The outfits are not flattering in any way, shape, or form and that is the main thing for me.

You want to lose weight- great.

You want to dance- wonderful.

But it doesn’t have to be presented in such a tasteless manner. It just makes the contestants all look quite silly. There are worse pictures than the one I’m posting so that should give you some idea in case you haven’t seen it.

How Did Women Stay Fit in the 1950’s?

Posted by Gina C. on June 22nd, 2009

I spent the weekend watching classic movies on TMC.

The thing that caught my eye was that the women were so tiny. Sure, there are tiny women today but you don’t see waistlines like that too often.

Being the curious person I am, I started to wonder what those women do that we don’t do. I came across an article that attributed home made foods, lower calories, and strenuous housework to the reason that 50’s housewives were more fit than women are today.

It was an interesting read but I’m not using it as an excuse to start bashing women today. We get enough of that everywhere else, we don’t need it here.
