Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married” was the number one movie this past weekend. I’m not surprised. I went to see it on Saturday night around 9pm and it was sold out for the 9:40 and 11:00pm show. So I got tickets for the 12:30 am show thinking no one would be up that late to watch a movie.

I was wrong, it was packed, and they showed it in two theaters.

One of the key story lines revolved around curvylicious diva Jill Scott who played Sheila. Sheila is a God-fearing woman who is very much in love with her husband. She is also very overweight.

I am going to have to agree with some of the critics who said that some of the insults towards Sheila were a bit harsh. I can understand Perry was trying to make a point but some of the words thrown at this woman made me cringe. But that’s life where fat= every other nasty word in the book. I give the movie two thumbs up and I will be getting it when it comes out on DVD.
