How to Get in Shape….When You Don’t Feel Like It
I’ve mentioned before that I’m on a mission to fit in my clothes.
I don’t hate myself.
I am not disgusting.
I will always love my curves.
But my favorite clothes don’t fit.
That’s not cool with me so for the past month or so I’ve been taking getting back in shape really seriously.
It’s hard though because I don’t like to exercise. But as I sat and thought about that, I figured out the key for me.
I have to make it seem as if I am not exercising. Going to the gym is out because its cold outside and that will be my excuse for not going. Besides, I get bored at the gym after about 2 weeks of working out because it’s the same old thing.
Walking outside is manageable but once again the cold factor sets in. I could join a sport but that’s too much commitment.
So I sat and thought, “What I really want to do is stay at home and watch tv.”
Ding ding ding!
I decided to grab my laptop, pop in a fitness dvd, sit it on top of my TV, turn on my favorite show, and off I go. I’ve been able to stick to my 3 times a week workouts and now I’m ready to kick it up to 4 times per week.
So my advice would be to find what works for you. If you don’t want to join a gym, don’t join. If you can’t stand walking then don’t walk. Find something that you enjoy and make it happen.
