Size 16 = 3X?
I’ve been in an interesting mood. I’d like to transport myself back to the late 50’s even though I really have no idea what it was like to live back then.
I just love the clothing, the home cooked meals, and the family time that I watch on Leave it to Beaver.
I know, I need to get real.
But I decided that I’d like to fill my closet with cute vintage clothing since the clothes these days don’t have that classy look.
I went searching for vintage clothing stores and I came across the cutest little black dress.
More Food Control- This Time It’s LA
The city of Los Angeles wants to protect public health by banning new fast food restaurants in low income areas.
The purpose is to give healthier alternatives a chance to step in and improve everyones health.
While I understand the sentiment, it’s rubbing me the wrong way for several reasons.
Instead of shutting everything down and setting the table for the US to be turned into some sort of food dictatorship, why don’t they just offer incentives for healthier restaurants to come in?
New York City is Watching Your Thighs
New York City chain restaurants have begun complying with a rule that requires them to post the calorie content of their menu items right on the menu.
No more looking at the menu and saying “I’ll take a large fry.” It will be more like “I’ll take a 700 calorie potato serving please”.
It seems like a good idea when you first think about it, but upon further thought I’m not so sure.
Right now it seems like a helpful way to make sure people know what they are eating. Most people don’t realize how many calories are in certain foods and perhaps if they knew, they wouldn’t eat those foods.
However that’s the problem right there. Why is the government trying to control what people eat? You think I don’t know that the grease in my burger is going straight into my digestive system?
I think this is like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s a way to slowly start to control people. What happens when someone wants that 1,130 calorie Big Mac? Are we going to have employees or other customers scoffing at their choices while pointing out their waistlines?
Will it be publicly acceptable to say “maybe you should go with the chicken salad minus the dressing”
Or better yet, when will the protesters start camping out of fast food restaurants spewing hate to every person who walks in? I’m not being ridiculous, people already get too worked up over OTHER peoples food choices as it is; all they need now is an excuse to publicly display their control issues with others who feel the same way.
Let’s not forget about the small businesses who are being impacted. Not every business has the money required to find out exactly how many calories are in every item.
One small business owner told the AP that it will cost $10,000 to run the calorie tests.
But I guess it’s all in a day’s work. Because people eating fast food is contributing to this terrible crime of being overweight. I wonder when they’ll start imposing fines and jail sentences.
It’s Time To Hop On The Treadmill When….
I hate exercising.
But every so often I cross a line and I have to whip myself back into shape.
Here’s how I know when I cross that line.
Clothes fit normally- ok
Clothes are a little tight; but it’s kind of sexy - ok but watch out.
Clothes are a bit tighter and it’s not cute- DING! Warning!
So now it’s time to get back to my workout routine. I don’t have any weight goals, I’m not obsessing over what I eat, all I want is for my clothes to fit comfortably again.
In fact, I’m haven’t even looked at a scale as I’m looking at inches not weight.
It took about 5 months for me to put on these extra “packages”; let’s see how long it takes me to get back to my regular curvilicious self.
I might add ladies that you might want to take an honest look at yourself because there’s a big difference between tight clothes that are sexy and tight clothes that are TOO SMALL.
Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you look cute when you really look a hot mess.
In an effort to be kind, I won’t post examples.
Eagle Eyes Are Watching Your Belly
What’s up with these self-proclaimed weight watchers?
You know, the people who are constantly watching you like an eagle, staring you down, and just waiting to comment on your weight?
When you lose weight the comments sound like:
“Oh you lost weight, congratulations! You look so good.”
When you gain weight the comments go in the other direction:
“Oh. You look…different.”
And if they are bold enough they’ll tell you straight up that they think you are fat and you might want to consider pushing back from the table.
My question is, why does it matter what someone else looks like? People always want to use that “I care about your health” excuse but most of the time that’s not the case.
I think that people make these comments to make themselves feel better. Get a life! But that’s just my opinion, your opinions may vary.
